School Streets Pilot
LeMarchant-St. Thomas is one of three schools in the HRCE selected to participate in a School Streets Pilot Project!
This project is a volunteer lead initiative that introduces temportatry restricted vehicle access to the streets around school entrances creating pedestrian and cycle zones during drop-off and pick-up times.
School Streets aim to:
- Reduce road danger at the school entrances
- Tackle vehicle congestion
- Improve air quality
- Increase the use of active travel to school
